Carrera Custom Homes president Damian Derby is an architecturally educated and trained builder who is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Masters of Architecture degree. With his extensive architecture training and education, he is able to accommodate customer changes and requests very easily and flexibly because he can both envision and produce results.

As a second-generation builder Mr. Derby has designed and built for leading custom homebuilders and architecture firms in both Texas and Michigan, in addition to master-planned universities in the UAE and Senegal.

In addition to his residential experience, Mr. Derby has also design experience in church sanctuaries, schools, movie theaters and professional office buildings in Houston.

“My personal philosophy,” says Derby, “Is to begin with the end in mind. I endeavor to design and build a place that becomes home for many generations to come – to build not just a home but a legacy of life memories in a place.
